Sweater weather, it’s the most wonderful time of the year. Seriously, every single sweater is amazing and there are just so many possibilities on styling them. They’re cozy, warm, and cute, to the point where you just might stop stealing your boyfriend’s clothes.
Ladies. Your options for knit sweaters are almost endless. Here are a few ways I like to wear and pair knit sweater for the fall and winter seasons!
I personally love the cowl neck/turtle neck for sweater dresses. Keeps you warm and cozy like you’re still wrapped up in your blanket at home. Pair them with over the knee boots and you’re ready to go! If you’re not so much into the high neck clothing, a simple crew neck type sweater dress will work just as great!
These are perfect for layering. These are the ones that are more fitted properly and make layering so easy. There are so many options as far as thickness and size, so how you layer up is completely up to you! You can wear over a collared button down for a cute professional look with skinnies, or wear it under a leather jacket for a casual day or night out. The comfy, cozy, might not have to keep stealing your boyfriends clothes, type sweater. What’s great about these types of sweaters is that you can even pair these with denim or leather shorts because the weather in Texas is all sorts of bipolar. A lightweight sweater is perfect to throw on and stay warm and still look great! But in the winter, just pair it with skinnies and thigh highs or booties, I promise it’ll look just as great.
Button down/Open cardigans
Great to throw on when you get cold at the office or just going out to run errands; here is how we paired it together. They’re easy to throw on and off and go over just about any outfit. Wear it over a pair of boyfriend jeans or skinnies with a simple tee, give yourself a quick hairstyle and you’re good to go for the day!
Options for men are pretty basic, which isn’t a bad thing. But adding some personality can go a long way and here are some ways you can style each type!
Basics for men
These are honestly just great as is, not much extra needed to make these look good. Throw on over a button down and under a jacket and you’re good on the layering part. And because knit sweaters are so versatile, venturing out for a funky pattern adds personality. Basic knit sweaters come in crew neck as well as v-necks, so you have many possibilities on how to wear it on your hand.
Such a dapper, professional, cozy look. Make it look sleek by pairing a black turtleneck under a suit jacket or trench coat with dress pants. I mean even drake wore a turtleneck in his hit song’s music video “Hotline Bling”.
Button down/Open knit
Button down or just completely open concept, these are perfect to wear with a casual button down or simple tee and denim pants. Easy to throw on and complete an outfit without even trying. One or two neutral/fall colored cardigan would work perfectly for any outfit!
