With temperatures dropping and retailers stocking up for the season changes ahead, we’ve got a review for the top looks to come! Per usual, expect to see an overwhelming amount of grey and black, but also more rich colors such as merlot, olive, deep blues, and a hint of white.
Let’s break it down to a couple of essential pieces every girl and guy needs to add in their wardrobe this 2016 finale!
Fall Fashion For Her
By far the most comfy piece of apparel any girl could ask for, oversized sweaters in all forms can easily perfect any ensemble this fall. From wearing them with skirts, to skinnies or even with denim shorts and thigh highs when the weather is not cold or hot, they keep you cozy at all times. And who doesn’t like feeling cozy when leaving the house? We suggest stocking up sweaters not just to layer over camis and tees but also seek out those sweater dresses to pair with thigh high boots and heavy knit cardigans to go with skinnies.
Graphics are perfect for keeping it simple yet stylish for those lazy days you don’t necessarily feel like dressing up but still want to grab attention; or an easy go to for when you’re in need of a quick workout session. Tees are a great wear around the house. When in a hurry throw on a pair of skinnies and a leather jacket to get a quick drink or bite with your friends.
Absolute must. Even with the whole bell-bottom look coming back into play, skinny jeans are a basic classic to any wardrobe at this point. An essential that completes any look you’re going for, whether casual or planning a night out. Skinnies fit an ensemble perfectly and look great with boots and booties. We suggest also having at least one pair of distressed skinnies to give your look a little extra kick. Keep reading for the boots and booties we are loving this fall!
Although finding the perfect fitting leather jacket to your style can be difficult, it’s absolutely a must have in your wardrobe this season. You can even pull it off in the springtime, that is, if the weather permits! Black is the most popular color to get and it makes sense, since it’ll just about go with everything in any color from regular or distressed skinnies and a graphic tee to a pencil skirt with a cropped top for a night out with the girls. Burgundy, olive, grey and are also great fall colors to stock up on if you want to switch it up a little bit. And if you’re feeling a little bolder, I’d definitely say go for a red, white, pale pink, or even a sky blue color. Go for that rocker-chic look like Beyoncé with the studded leather jacket.
When hearing the word blazers, some may think boring office job wardrobes, but that doesn’t necessarily have to be the case. Blazers now are a lot more stylish in a sense that they even look good with a pair of skinnies, plain and even distressed, with a pair of pointed toe heels or loafers. Jazz it up by getting a metallic or velvet blazer, throw on a little scarf with it, wear a cropped blazer instead, etc. Basically, blazers are professional cute and stylish cover-ups that definitely do not have to be boring!
Perfect for dressing up those simple outfits or actually keeping it simple. A great thing about these two is that they both come in various sizes and colors so it’s easy, yet can be difficult, choosing which one to wear. Because honestly, they’re both versatile style shoes. Here’s a few ways I like to wear both. Dress up that graphic tee and skinnies outfit with a heel thigh high boot and throw on a leather jacket to keep you looking stylish and feeling warm or just throw on a pair of low heel or flat patent leather bootie for comfort and still look great. Make it funky and get you a pair of silver or leopard bootie! To go a little more casual, an oversized sweater or button down with skinnies and flat leather or suede boots. (Also just want to throw in the fact that Beyoncé kills it on stage dancing in her thigh high boots during the Formation World Tour!)
Originally made for the military pilots, bomber jackets have come back in style for both men and women, but definitely an essential for men. Bomber jackets are those that look great for daytime wear as well as nighttime. Bomber jackets have made a huge comeback since they were popular in the 50’s and wartimes. Dress it with tapered leg denim, a plain tee and white shoes for a classic look. Add a nice watch and or chain to dress it up a little for a night out. Don’t be mistaken, bomber jackets also go great for those who want to wear a button and tie to keep that professional yet casual look; they’re simple and edgy.
Same concept for women goes for men as well. It’s one of those essentials to add that street-style look. I think every man should have one in my opinion. They’re great to throw on for daily wear with denim pants, a white tee and a nice watch for example. You can even throw it over a plaid shirt or a button down with a tie and still look A1. If you’re not into the typical collared biker jacket look, a moto jacket with small collar would be a fantastic substitute. I personally think those types look great on every guy especially if you’re into the more subtle looks. I’d definitely recommend a classic black or go bold and grab that attention with a red leather jacket.
Camo has never really gone out of style and especially in the fall. It’s a great subtle pattern to wear on either pants, especially joggers, shirt, ties, jackets, vests, etc. It’s timeless and doesn’t necessarily have to be the typical green. Venture out and get a navy, merlot, or khaki camo print. It’s really an essential piece to add to your street wardrobe.
For all those guys that wish they could go out in their sweatpants, well I say joggers are your answer. Joggers are like sweatpants that are acceptable to wear out to an event. Not to mention they’re also comfortable, stylish, and can look good for any occasion. They go with just about any shoe as well, from plain all white canvas shoes to yeezy’s, etc.
Fall and winter are subtle and chill seasons where people where “warm” colors. You know, because it’s cold outside. But sweaters are so simple yet versatile, they’ll go perfectly as it, with a vest over for a little extra warmth or under a leather jacket for those colder winter days. That being said, they’re great with transitioning from fall to winter since all you’ll have to do is add a jacket over it and or a light tee underneath. So we definitely suggest stocking up on a few of they guys, as they come in many forms of thickness, depending on how warm you want to stay, take your pick.
Raw denim is untouched denim that has not been through the “washing and distressing” process that most denim goes through. The amazing thing about raw denim is that it conforms to your body after a few wears and genuinely becomes YOUR denim pants; which pretty much makes them a must buy. Rather than looking for that specific fit, you make these fit to your body. They shouldn’t be washed, but if it’s a must, make sure you take them to the dry cleaners. Otherwise, hand wash and hang dry, or stick them in the freezer!
